Lioness (also known as Special Ops: Lioness) is a high-octane American espionage spy-thriller television series created by Taylor Sheridan for Paramount+.
The premise
The series is inspired by an actual US military program. It follows Joe McNamara, a top-tier CIA station chief in charge of the 'Lioness' program. Her mission is to recruit, train and lead aggressive female undercover operatives to infiltrate global terrorist networks and state-sponsored power brokers to prevent the next major international disaster. The heart of the story focuses on the brutal physical toll of undercover work and Joe's struggle to balance a volatile professional life with her husband and kids at home.
