Jumanji: Open World is an upcoming action-adventure comedy film scheduled to hit US theatres on December 25th of 2026. Directed by Jake Kasdan, it serves as the fifth installment overall and the epic final chapter of the modern Jumanji trilogy. The game has officially evolved and the real world is now in play. Picking up after the cliffhanger events of Jumanji: The Next Level, the magical video game finally breaks free from it's console. Instead of the human players getting sucked into the machine, the game's environments, dangerous creatures and iconic video game avatars escape into reality. The real-world teenagers must team up with their glitching, real-world avatar counterparts who are initially stuck in 'demo mode' to stop the spreading chaos and finish the game on their own turf once and for all.

The blockbuster franchise reunites it's core ensemble cast alongside returning real-world characters and a few new faces.
In-game avatars - Reprised by Dwayne Johnson (Dr. Smolder Bravestone), Kevin Hart (Franklin 'Mouse' Finbar), Jack Black (Professor Sheldon 'Shelly' Oberon) and Karen Gillan (Ruby Roundhouse).
The real-world group - Alex Wolff (Spencer), Madison Iseman (Bethany), Morgan Turner (Martha), Ser'Darius Blain (Fridge) and Danny DeVito (Grandfather Eddie).
Returning allies - Nick Jonas (Jefferson 'Seaplane' McDonough) and Awkwafina (Ming Fleetfoot).
New additions - Burn Gorman and Nasim Pedrad join the final adventure in undisclosed roles.
The film also includes special narrative tributes to Robin Williams ensuring the legacy of the original 1995 masterpiece remains central to it's grand conclusion.
